Children's Ministry

We started our new Sunday School program off with a bang! It is such a blessing and so exciting to be in our new “Education” building! Please be sure to sign your children up for our new Sunday School program so that we can be sure to order curriculum materials for them for the next quarter.

We continue the request for additional volunteers for “extra help” in the nursery each Sunday. The sign up sheet is located in the nursery. This is a very important need for the growth of our Children’s Ministry. Volunteers may sign up for one service, education hour or the entire Sunday (8:00 a.m. – noon). If you are able to assist us in the nursery, please see Leah in the nursery or contact Grace Keedy Anderson.

The Puppets have arrived! Our new puppet ministry has begun with Dick Mefford, Megan McDuffee, Tom Verley and Grace Keedy Anderson. Dick, Tom and Andrea have created a large puppet stage for our new puppets to perform, so be prepared for some fun and exciting puppet ministry presentations at worship services in the near future. Thank you Dick, Tom, Andrea, Megan and everyone involved. What a blessing this ministry is and will be to LIC Kids.

We are excited to announce VBS and Mad Science all day program is back! This all day program allows children who have working parents to attend VBS in the morning and a Science camp in the afternoon, all right here at Life in Christ. Children age 3 (and potty-trained) through 6^th grade are invited to attend a week of fun and excitement. 7^th Grade and up are encouraged and NEEDED to help as interns.

This year our VBS is titled “Power lab” and follows a science theme. How appropriately it coordinates with our previously successful Mad Science program in the afternoon. Power lab VBS will be held from 9:00 to noon. There is no charge to students for the morning VBS program. Children who stay for the afternoon “Mad Science” program will bring a sack lunch and eat together from noon to 1:00. We will continue the day with the Mad Science program in the afternoon from 1:00 to 5:00. The charge for the Mad Science program is $85 per child. Scholarships are available for children if needed.

Be sure to bring your friends, children, grandchildren or anyone you know to enjoy a week long program of fun, excitement while learning about the love of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Would you like to help bring the love and message of Jesus to children? Have you hesitated in the past because of not wanting to commit long term? Here is your opportunity to volunteer and we REALLY NEED your help! We are in need of teachers and helpers for our VBS and Mad Science programs. If you are able to assist with preparation, help for a day during VBS or for the entire week of VBS, please contact Grace Keedy Anderson at 623-203-7033. We NEED you!

If you are able to provide a scholarship for a child or children to attend the all day VBS and Mad Science program, please drop your donation into the offering plate in an envelope marked “VBS Scholarship” or contact Grace Keedy Anderson for more information. In years past, we have been so blessed to have been able to allow each and EVERY student desiring to attend the all day program the opportunity to do so. When God so richly blesses us, it is so nice to be able to share those blessings with others.
